Amy ZingRedmond

Amy Zing is a Margate-based festival director, curating Margate Pride and Power of Women festival. With a background as a BBC radio producer, in 2008 Amy co-founded queer club collective Sink The Pink, which saw Amy named one of Time Out’s Top 50 Influential Londoners. In 2014 Amy and her co-founders established East Creative, an entertainment agency with inclusivity, community and queer culture at its core, producing large-scale events including the Mighty Hoopla Festival. 

In 2016 Amy co-founded Margate Arts Club a queer and femme focused community space. In 2016 Amy co-founded Margate Pride (which has grown from 500 attendees to a much-loved community event attracting crowds of 15,000+) In 2016 she co-founded OUT Margate, an LGBTQ+ youth club, which had her work recognised by Amnesty International. In 2019 Amy was appointed Artistic Director of arts charity POW Thanet, a festival celebrating International Womens Day. In 2022 Amy and her Sink The Pink co founder Glyn Fussell won the Community Award at the Attitude Awards

Amy hosts the Power of Women podcast and has been DJing disco and pop bangers across festivals and clubs for 20+ years.

Amy is available for DJing, writing, live speaking and broadcast guest appearances, relating to queer culture, community activism, feminism, inclusivity and empowerment.
